Days 13-14 - Berlin, Germany

Day 13 - Flea Market and World Cup

We had free time on Sunday and most of us went over to one of the two giant, weekly flea markets in Berlin.  There were a ton of street performers at the entrance which were pretty good.  Later, we went to a restaurant to watch the world cup game which was a lot of fun.  The entire place stood up and cheered when Germany scored and everyone (in the whole city) went crazy when they won.  All the cars driving by were honking non-stop and whenever people passed each other they yelled, "YEAH!" or "DEUTSCHLAND" (or "GERMANY" - there were actually a lot of people yelling in English).  Even the police cars and fire trucks took part in the impromptu parades driving around.

Day 14 - Nazi Walking Tour

Today we went on a 8 hour walking tour of Berlin which was mostly geared toward World War II sites but there were quite a few Cold War era sites we stopped at as well.  We saw a lot of memorials, murals, buildings built during the Nazi regime, as well as visited the Topography of Terror.  For lunch we got Döner Kebab which were really good.
